Since 1991 Monarch has provided expert advice to the oil and gas industry in all types of seismic exploration – Marine, Transition Zone and Land environments using our expertise in all aspects of geophysics.

Monarch Technical Services was established in January 1991 by Malcolm King to provide Project Management and Quality Control of seismic data processing. In 1996 most of MTS’s business was transferred to Monarch Geophysical Services ltd. Prior to establishing Monarch Technical Services Malcolm King was the Marine Data Processing Manager at Western Geophysical London for 10 years.

Since its’ inception Monarch has worked for over 50 different oil companies on more than  800 projects – land, transition zone and marine – acquisition and processing 2D, 3D & 4D. Most projects have been major 3D surveys processed in the time or depth domain as well as the processing and re-processing of numerous large 2D Surveys. The largest project worked on so far was the management and quality control of a 6000 km2 3D marine survey, acquisition and processing, in the Falklands Economic Zone. This involved the engagement of 2 seismic vessels for 6 months plus the 18 months processing.

Monarch has 10 employees, The Team, at present plus the 2 directors. Malcolm King, the managing director is actively involved in survey management and QC as well as promoting and managing Monarch. Claire King is the other director and is responsible for the company administration. All the employees are fully qualified geophysicists with extensive experience in the execution and management of seismic acquisition and processing projects. Malcolm King has over 30 years industry experience and the 9 employees have, between them, over 200 years of experience. The company is actively looking to expand by recruiting new, experienced, geophysicists.
